Material and product certification depends on knowing what has been assessed, how it was identified and which evidence supports the result. Aegean Lloyd’s planned approach connects manufacturer information, technical requirements and inspection records without losing the identity of the individual product or batch.
Identification and technical basis
A submission should state the manufacturer, production site, product designation, intended use and relevant drawings or specifications. Heat numbers, serial numbers or batch references should connect the physical item to the supporting records. The required assessment route should be agreed before manufacture or testing reaches a critical stage.
Inspection and supporting evidence
The accepted scope may include document review, material identification, examination of manufacturing records and witnessing of agreed tests. The report should distinguish tests witnessed by the surveyor from evidence supplied by another party. Any departure from the agreed process should be recorded and reviewed.
Certification with defined boundaries
The document should name the assessed product, applicable scope and relevant conditions. Approval of a design or type does not automatically certify every item subsequently manufactured. Installation suitability and ongoing validity may require further checks. Confirmed product categories and approval arrangements will be published before this service becomes operational.
SERVICE AVAILABILITY
This page describes the service framework being developed. Acceptance of any assignment depends on a confirmed technical scope, suitable personnel and the required approvals or authorizations. It does not claim flag recognition, IACS membership or accredited verifier status.
